Disneyland 1997 Blue Ribbon Bakery GLASS MUG Grand Opening Carnation Ice Cream Disneyland 1997 Blue Ribbon Bakery GLASS MUG Grand Opening Carnation Ice Cream Classic Disneyland Treasures from Saturday\'s Toys presents... a rare opening day souvenir glass coffee mug from the BLUE RIBBON BAKERY on Main Street USA at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
Famous for its coffee, cookies, sandwiches, and cinnamon rolls... the Blue Ribbon Bakery operated at this Main Street location from March 21, 1997 thru January 5, 2012. This glass mug was sold to guests on the new bakery\'s opening day; until the supply was quickly exhausted. The mug is dated \"March, 1997\" (as the exact opening date was only tentative when the mugs were ordered).
Mug was obtained on the bakery\'s opening day. The bakery filled the location held since opening day (July 17, 1955) by the Carnation Ice Cream Parlor. Elements of the original 1955 furnishings were preserved and integrated into the upgraded design of the repurposed location on Main Street, U.S.A. Next door, the Gibson Ice Cream Parlor opened on the same day in 1997 to fill the store once sponsored by the Sunkist Citrus House.
Oversized glass mug measures 3.5\" tall x 4.5\" across rim. Holds approx. 16 oz. (to very top).
No cracks or chips; some surface scratches to paint as noted on blue lettering that was painted onto the glass for this opening day promotional effort. Still, an impressive remembrance from one of Disneyland\'s most historic and memorable food service locations. The famed bakery has since been replaced by the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe at the Plaza Hub (formerly the Plaza Pavilion Restaurant / Annual Pass Center).
