1996 MONTBLANC WRITERS EDITION DUMAS STICKERED 18K BROAD NIB FOUNTAIN PEN MINT:

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked, Mint in the Box 1996 Writers Series Montblanc Alexandre Dumas Fountain Pen Limited Edition 05899/20000 fitted with an 18K Broad nib. This pen comes with the original inner and outer boxes and Montblanc documentation. This is the Alexandre Dumas Fountain Pen with the correct signature version which was made later on in the production cycle. The incorrect signature type was made earlier in the production cycle and had the son's name inscribed on the cap. I consider this fountain pen to be in New Old Stock condition with it never being inked!
Alexandre Dumas was one of the most important novelists and playwrights of the 19th century. He knew better than anyone how to combine effective dialogue, dramatic tension, and lucid description in gripping stories. His intellectually stimulating and ambitious works still captivate a large readership all over the world – Dumas wrote nearly 300 novels, including such world-renowned classics as “The Three Musketeers” and “The Count of Monte Cristo”.
The design of the pen incorporates subtle references to his works including a clip in the form of a sword and the cap ring adorned with a French lily. One thing neat about this piece is that the fountain pen comes with a huge nib (the same size as on the 149 Diplomat size pens), larger than all the other Writer Series nibs (except the Hemingway.) Additionally, the original Montblanc "BROAD" nib sticker still is attached to the barrel.
This Alexandre Dumas is a limited edition number, "5889/20000".
The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The gold-plated trim is excellent and has been polished to shine brightly and displays no wear. The fountain pen measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 3/8" posted.
This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system I have tested with water and works as it was designed to. I have taken apart the piston to clean and grease it along with cleaning the inside of the barrel. The piston works as it should and smoothly. The fountain pen has no signs of it ever being inked.
The 18-karat, rhodium-plate nib has a Fleur-de-lis motif and is marked. "4810, 18K/750, Montblanc Logo, 1996, MONTBLANC". This nib is designated as a BROAD and the point measures 1.09mm when using digital calipers.
Accompanying this fountain pen is the original Montblanc box, outer storage factory box, International Service Certificate, Reply Card, and Limited Edition Booklet. This is a Limited Edition Montblanc with a production number of 05889 out of 20000.
This Montblanc Alexandre Dumas Fountain Pen is a very stunning writing instrument crafted in Germany. I would consider this Montblanc Limited Edition Fountain Pen to be in New Old Stock, Never Inked, and in Mint Condition. The correct "Alexandre Dumas" signature makes this fountain pen correct and proper for the discerning collector. This will be a marvelous addition to your Montblanc Writers Series arsenal collection.
