A) Large Roman Galley, for p.13 of ‘Fighting Ships’ (see photos for reference). Signed lower right, with ink and pencil printing notations along bottom edge and on verso. 6” x 10”. Finely detailed and exacting.

B) Saracen Ship, for p. 19, signed lower right, with ink notations along bottom edge and verso. 7” x 10 1/2”

Tuckwell illustrated ‘Fighting Ships (1971) and The Look-It-Up Book of Transport (1971), among many others; his bio the latter publication: “George Tuckwell is an English artist who served as a fighter pilot with the Royal Air Force during World War II. He graduated from Sir John Cass College and Goldsmiths College with a National Diploma of Design. He has illustrated a number of books and his paintings have been shown both in England and the United States.”
