SUGILITE:N'Chwaning III Mine, Kuruman, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape, South Africa. Dimensions: 3.2 x 2.7 x 1.1cm, miniature/thumbnail. This is an extremely colorful specimen composed of fibrous bright magenta-purple Sugilite! This is a very rich and absolutely gorgeous piece for the species and the find for the Kalahari! Two to 8mm botryoidal mounds of silky, magenta-purple Sugilite cover much of the front and sides of the piece with minor interlaced brown iron oxides for great contrast and texture! The Sugilite is in thick, tightly bundled fiber-like crystals which is very rare! With a loupe or under a microscope, the individual fibrous crystals are very evident!Sugilite is a rare, complex potassium-sodium-lithium-iron silicate species. Pieces of this quality were from a single pocket found late in 2016. A very nice and very rich piece! Buyer pays USPS Priority Mail shipping.
