A vintage American hand painted oil on wooden panel by L. Hitchcock. The sign designed for the Temperance Hotel, depicting an eagle sitting atop globe between a sunburst and laurel branch. over stenciled text that reads "TEMPERANCE". Wood grain detail and beautiful patina add rustic antique character and charm. Signed, makers mark on back, but starting to fade, marked L. Hitchcock. Dating to the mid 20th century.
Light scratches and wear throughout consistent with age and use but overall displays nicely. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
