This Woodburytype portrait of the artist Gustave Dore and the accompanying biographical notice appeared originally in the volumeMen of Mark, second series, 1877, published in London by Lock and Whitfield.The two pages are stiff with age, but they are otherwise in good shape. The image of Dore is in excellent condition. The separate biographical page has significant soiling, as one can see in the image listed.
This and the other individual Woodburytype portraits that I am selling came to me disassembled from their original volumes. I do not disassemble volumes, which is why I have recently sold a few complete volumes ofMen of Mark. Related Items:
