Domed clock features gilt front & unique pendulumThis antique domed mantle clock is believed to date fromabout 1875 and is in fine working and cosmetic condition.
It is made of mahogany wood with a natural patina built upover the past 150 years.
It features an ornate pendulum that measures 8.0 inches tall.
A winding key activates the movement to provide its steadytic-toc beat.
The movement also activates a chiming bell that correctlycounts out the hours.
Wooden case measures 17 inches tall, 10 inches at the widestpoint, and 4 1/2 inches deep.
The front door opens for easy access to the pendulum andbell inside.
The gilt embellishment was applied to the inside of theglass and is in excellent unrestored condition.
Clock is unbranded, but our research indicates it was likelyproduced in the mid-1870s by Atkins Clock Company as their model Centennial No.3.
Atkins produced clocks in the eastern USA for severaldecades but ceased opertions in about 1880.
