This is a pair of antique (1895 – 1905) Late Victorian toEdwardian era, Shepherd and Shepherdess bisque figural spill vases made in Germany. These were generally used as matchstickholders; the basket weave pattern would serve as the match strikers.
The Shepherd Vase is approx. 7.75 inches tall; theShepherdess is approx. 7.25 inches tall.The gold trim on these vases is gorgeous. The Shepherd is in near mint condition. The Shepherdess is missing is missing most ofher fingers (See photos).
