Madonna and Child New Bedford Glass Museum Pairpoint Glass Cup Plate Collectible Mary and Baby Jesus Madonna Blue Window Decoration Handcrafted on Cape Cod, Made in USA This vintage Christmas cup plate features Madonna and Child. The art glass was created by Pairpoint Glass for the New Bedford Glass Society\'s annual Christmas Cup Plate collection in 1978. This limited edition plate, number 54 out of only 2,417 made, was designed by George Avila, the former director of the New Bedford Glass Museum, and adapted from several traditional Mother and Child paintings. Made in the USA, this \"Madonna Blue\" cup plate is a must-have for collectors of vintage Christmas decor and Pairpoint glassware.Made in the USA. Vintage Pairpoint Glass lead crystal cup plates are works of art that feature intricate designs and decorative elements not commonly found on modern glass. They can add a touch of elegance to a collection or home decor. The 3.5 inch cup plates were handcrafted on Cape Cod using traditional techniques. The artisan created a steel mold with hammer and chisel for each intricate design, and then hand-pressed molten glass into the engraved mold using an antique press. This hand process created a series of cup plates that are similar, but not identical. The irregularities highlight the handmade nature of each piece. Each cup plate has the artisan\'s initials and the Pairpoint trademark embedded within the design. The cup plate can be used as a small catchall dish to keep track of small trinkets such as keys or jewelry, or as a ring dish to keep all your small, special things safe. Additional Information:
