There is a little thinning of the brass plating noted at the front base and on the top of the base, see photos.I have placed colored arrows, as follows:
Green arrow: This locks the pendulum from spinning, for shipment. It Must be pushed from right to left to release the pendulum for regular time keeping and spin.Once the pendulum has been released, move the pendulum 1/4 turn clockwise 3 times then release for the pendulum to spin properly.
Purple/Blue arrows: the two screws which allow the dome to be removed.
Pink arrows: These are the screw adjustment plates for leveling the clock on a table/mantel, etc.
Red arrow: this is the winding stem, which may be turned with pliers or a key.
