Kansas state highway 66 route marker. Up for sale today is this Kansas state route 66 sign. Made to the exact state standards as used after 1985 when US route 66 was decommissioned, and various segments became state highways in certain states, including Kansas. The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 5 pounds, 12 ounces, and has been faithfully rescaled from the original 24x24 and 36x36 size down to 15 by 15 inches, which is the size of the older sunflower route shields used until 1978. This particular variant of sign uses the shorter, wider (series D) numerals that Kansas seemed to have used interchangeably with taller, narrower (series C). If you would like a different size or route number, please do not hesitate to inquire. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection.
