Lovely antique signed, framed Fred Thompson hand-colored photograph of rolling ocean surf, early 20th century, titled \"Glorious ocean.\" Fred Thompson was one of the main competitors to, and a contemporary of, Wallace Nutting.It has gentle but not faded color, and is crisp and clean. It measures 9 x 17 inches framed. The frame appears to be be original (mahogany?) and is in good shape. There are some scratches in the finish, with missing varnish, but the frame itself does not appear to be damaged. I have indicated the three most noticeable scratches with orange arrows in a close-up photo. I think some light sanding and a fresh clear coat could make it look new if you wanted that. The mat is an even off-white color, and clean except for a line or possible scratch near the upper left corner and a small dark shadow near that, which could be a water stain. I have indicated these with blue arrows in a close-up photo. Neither is too noticeable, but please look closely. New dust jacket on the back.I have tried to find and describe any flaws, but please check the photos carefully.
