Antique Alabaster Box in the Shape of a Book:

This unusual box is made of two slabs of alabaster with metal sides and hinges and wood lining. The hinges are elaborate as in the hinges of an old bible. The overall effect is very charming. The box is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The top slab does have a line, but it does not show on the bottom, so it is part of the natural stone.Measurements are: 4 3/4\" by 4 1/2\" and 2 1/2\" tall.
