Six Decades of Rusnak
Success isn’t born overnight. It takes an entrepreneur with vision, grit, and determination to make something special. That’s what Paul Rusnak set out to do almost six decades ago, and that legacy continues stronger than ever, as the Rusnak Auto Group serves drivers in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and all of Southern California.
It all started in 1959 when the Rusnak/Lazar “Jet Imports” dealership was opened in Culver City. From there Mr. Rusnak opened a Triumph dealership in Los Angeles one year later in 1960, marking his very first foray into new car dealerships. It certainly wouldn’t be his last, as he opened a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena in 1966.
But there’s something about true European sports cars that catches the attention of any car lover. Mr. Rusnak was no exception. They weren’t common in the United States at the time, but Mr. Rusnak decided to change that. In 1970, he opened Rusnak Porsche/Audi, followed by Rusnak MG, Triumph, and Jaguar in Culver City in 1978, which would eventually move to Pasadena in 1986.
The next two decades were no slower for Mr. Rusnak, who tapped into the potential of the Thousand Oaks market and opened Rusnak/Westlake Porsche and Audi in 1981, Rusnak BMW in Westlake Village in 1982, and Rolls-Royce and Bentley dealerships in Pasadena in 1984. In 1991, the 20th century was capped off with the opening of the Rusnak Mercedes-Benz and Volvo dealerships in Pasadena.
That would prove not to be the end of the expansion for the Rusnak Auto Group, because the 2008 opening of Rusnak Hyundai Inland Empire in Loma Linda sparked a flurry of activity over the next few years. Including opening the new Rusnak BMW in Westlake Village in 2009, and the purchase of Jaguar Land Rover Anaheim Hills in 2012, marking the first Rusnak dealership in Orange County.
After all these years, the Rusnak Auto Group continues to show signs of health and growth. In 2016, the new Mercedes-Benz of Arcadia also opened, including Sprinter and Metris Vans. In 2019 Genesis of Loma Linda opened and in 2020 the all-new Audi Pasadena facility opened.
