Manuscript letter dated June 1, 1861 from a brother to his family member talking about the \"political excitement\" and his potential plans to join the army. He asks him not to tell his family about that possibility. \"..about the political excitement which must be quite high since the taking of Jefferson City by General Lyon U.S.....I do no know what I will do yet. I may enlist in the Army though you need not say nothing about it to our folks...\" Sent from somewhere in Illinois to Shelbyville, Missouri. Not sure who it is from signed \"brother T.B.S.\" Good condition. We reduce postage for multiple items sold.
