Vintage Miniature Small French Style Wood & Compo/Gesso Holland Picture Frame~
Entire size : 6 1/4 x 7 in.
Back insert ( fit ) size : 3 5/8 x 4 5/8 in.
Front sight size : 3 1/8 x 4 in.
Age : late 1950s /early 1960s
Condition : Good as is vintage condition. Minor wear to the paint. chipped compo/gesso on the back corners of the frame revealing bare wood on all corners. Could be touched -up if it bothers you. Fissure cracks from age in the compo/gesso on a few corner embellishments.
Material : wood base and compo/gesso on corners and sides
Color : Medium gold paint, possible gilt in a few areas. Where the paint is worn off there is a red color, typically red bole/paint .
NO GLASS
This miniature frame can be used horizontally or vertically. It is stamped Made in Holland on the back. It is small enough to be able to perch on a easel or to be hung on the wall. Lovely little frame for Victorian, French, Traditional, Romantic, Midcentury and Eclectic decors.
