This is a remarkable item for display. We attended a public estate locally and this was not clearly visible to the hundreds of people that were at the estate. We found this beauty behind decorative vases in a display cabinet. The room was dark and this was in the corner of the display shelf. We gladly rescued this and have loved it for a year before deciding to share it here.

Someone took a lot of effort to create this egg. The egg is decorated with stamps that were cancelled. We can identify and notice the majority of the stamps are 10-cent stamps., we also recognize a 3 cent stamp, 14 cent stamp, 13 cent stamp, 5 cent stamp. Once the egg was layered with stamps, it appears to have been dipped, coated or heat shrunk to protect the stamps. It then was secured to a wooden owl which appears to have the letter “J” carved into it. The Owl base allows the egg to be displayed upright. The bottom of the egg has a finishing cap on the bottom.

We have never come across anything like this before, however the stamps on this really make it unique and pop.

This vintage enamel egg is a true collector's item, adorned with vintage cancelled stamps and a clear coat finish that is in nice condition. The wooden owl adds to its charm and uniqueness. The color of the egg is clear, making it a versatile decor piece that will fit into any collection.

Damage Report: there appears to be a mark in the clear coat on one side and an indentation in the clear coat near the first mark noticed. Images of this are included as the last 2 images. These photos were zoomed to maximum, so they are very difficult to even notice when displayed and observed from a distance greater than 12”
