Sterling silver, hallmarked 800, Sterling silver, used by German and Russian artisans to denote sterling. There is also a maker’s mark to the side of the 800 that is worn and not readable. This wine or champagne stopper is sterling silver with a cork. Lion stands on ball and holds a hallmarked scepter with a fleur de lid on top.
There are no chips, flakes, cracks or repairs.
This handsome silver stopper very detailed and a nice quality reproduction piece. It is vintage from 1980s to early 1990s. The stopper unscrews from the cork base. Designed to last a lifetime, the cork can be easily replaced whenever wear or stains are present on the cork. Replacement corks can be found at cooking or brewing outlets and catalogs.
