Beautiful original signed watercolor painting by Gil Reid depicting a trolley withe the sign \"LIMITED\" rounding a curve on railroad tracks, in between telephone poles or power lines. The work, on heavy watercolor paper, is matted and framed in a contemporary metal frame, with the artist\'s studio business card affixed to the back of the framing materials. Signed \"GIL REID\" in the lower left corner. It appears to be sunset, as there are bilowing clouds in deep blues and purples above a yellow band on the horizon line. A cool touch is just the outline of the engineer visible in the train. Fresh to the market!

BIOGRAPHY
Gil Reid (1918-2007) is a well-listed Wisconsin and Missouri-based railroad artist whose illustrations can be found in Trains Magazine, as well as in Amtrak calendars. Author John Gruber wrote an excellent article about the artist, \"Artist Gil Reid,\" published in Railroad Heritage Magazine in the Spring of 2000. Reid\'s depictions of trains are avidly collected by railroad enthusiasts, and numerous examples have sold at sale, as recorded on the AskArt website.
