STEEPLECHASE PARK - COMBINATION BADGE / TICKET - TAGThis used (lacking the clipped bottom date pass) ticket - combination badge for Steeplechase Park is from Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York. The park was created by George C. Tilyou, and operated from 1897 to 1964. It was the first of the three original iconic large parks on Coney Island, and was Coney Island's longest lasting park. The badge measures about 3 1/4 inches across. One of the earlier of the park's ticket/badges.
Built in 1899 and originally called Auditorium Pier, Steeplechase Pier amusement park and boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey was purchased by George C. Tilyou in 1908, He remodeled and renamed it Steeplechase Pier after his Coney Island park.
