This is Door Knob # 2 listed at $217, it is from the Vanity area which had a door to the bathroom and a door to the main living room. The door knobs are clear. The other Door Knob #1 listed at $235 because it has the two door knobs and the entire working mechanism and it was from the back door kitchen exit which was an important planning and meeting area for Lee Harvey Oswald. The kitchen had 3 doors, one to the bathroom, one to the dining room/library and 1 to the back door which opened into the hall doorway to the outside door!. (Door Knob #3 was the first door knob to sell. It had 1 door knob and then the one sided locking mechanism. It was $135.00, which included shipping.) All the other door knobs have more mechanisms and are listed by numbers 1-6, details will be provided upon posting. The apartments were very efficient, you could open up the doors and connect the dining room (which Lee called his library) into the front living room/bedroom. You would never know the front living room was also a bedroom because it had a Murphy Bed - Such an efficient layout! ALOT of DOOR Knobs!This is the building where Lee Harvey Oswald ordered the gun that killed Officer Tippit after the tragic assassination of President Kennedy. All of these door knobs are from historic Unit #2 or the Unit #2 side of the building. 600 Elsbeth (formerly 602-604 Elsbeth) is in the Warren Commission. Mr. and Mrs. Tobias were the Building Managers in 1963, and the Warren Commission interviewed them extensively. Mr. Tobias drew a picture of the building for the Warren Commission. Collectors all over the world come to Dallas to see Lee Harvey Oswald history, and even though the building came down, the property site still receives history lovers visits.
