Rare 1930s French face powder by Figene. Poudre de Riz

This is in very good condition for its age. There are age spots and some minor staining to the container. This is still full of face powder, which actually still smells really lovely! It’s a very pale pink color.

Poudre de Riz was face powder made from rice powder. Given the qualities of rice powder, and that it was more expensive than other starches, using the term ‘poudre de riz’ on a powder box gave the product a certain cachet.

This is special and oh so lovely and perfect as boudoir decor and of course collectible.

I would not recommend using this.
