Antique Blue & White James Edwards \"Erford\" Ironstone 9\" Transferware Plate:

1. 9\" diameter
2. ERFORD pattern blue over white transferware plate by Jas. Edwards. Made in Burslem, Staffordshire district, England between 1841 and 1850.
3. This is the fluted double swirl shape, patented in 1841.
4. Mr. Edwards was the first to market ironstone to America in 1842.
5. No chips or cracks on this piece. Has a glaze flake on the rim (See photos) and typical glaze crazing.
6. Color is rich and vibrant.
