1964 Somportex JAMES BOND Film Scene EXTREMELY RARE “27 Bathtub” Variant, card #58 Nadja Regin. This card is part of the original, first set of James Bond cards ever made. This is the elusive and infamous #58 Nadja Regin card with the number 27 printed in the lower right corner of the bathtub. This is one of the rarest, if not the rarest, of all vintage James Bond cards. High grade, top quality card - possibly the finest in existence. See photos for the exact card you will receive.

The Somportex Film Scene cards were only issued / distributed in the UK and are special for a variety of reasons. First, they were the first set of James Bond trading cards ever produced.

Additionally, pictures displaying the beautiful pin-up girls were not accepted by everyone. Some frustrated parents claimed it was a disgrace that children could purchase pictures with half naked women in a candy shop on the street corner. This issue went so far that it reached the national press and was actually discussed in the British House of Commons by MP's. As a result of the news coverage, the offending cards where shown in the late night magazine style show “The Braden Beat”. In 1965 the cards were withdrawn from sale after front page headlines in the Daily Mirror on Thursday, December 3, 1964 displayed the following text:

“A member of parliament complained that the photo content of bikini-clad girls was a disgusting and disgraceful corruption of young children”.
