This an amazing one of kind piece. It's from Peru. A late 19th century Santos of Saint Francis of Paoli is superimposed as a relief onto a painting of a Peruvian village scene with female and male shepherds and a church while birds fly in the sky. The statue is polychromed and holds a book. He holds the scriptures. It is a very interesting and contemplative piece. The entire framed piece is 18" by 13" and the Santo is 13" by 5." An amazing and significant piece!
