The product is a WWII French M35 shirt that was used by German forces during the war. These were used by the German Afrika Korps as well as any tropical units. The tunic is stamped with the only legible number being the '42 date.I believe the stamp on the inside of the shirt says:• Top Line: "ETS. M. VATAN & FILS" (or Etablissements Vatan & Fils / Vatan & Sons). You can faintly see the letters "ERETS" (part of Etablissements or Ateliers) and "& F..." on the right side of that top arc.• Middle Line: "VATAN" — The primary brand/manufacturer name.• Bottom Line: "CHATEAUROUX" (or (INDRE)). The faded text in parentheses next to it "(IN...)" perfectly matches the French department of Indre, where the factory was located.
