WW1 US AEF Official 1914 Soldier Graves Kreutz Ballreich European Conflict Photo:
$35.00
An original 4.5x4" vintage photo from a large collection of American Expeditionary Force (AEF) photos we acquired from the estate of a collector. Photos of this set are almost all labelled "US OFFICIAL", indicating that the U.S. Signal Corps is the most likely origin. Photo is extremely rare. Professionally packaged in a rigid mailer for safe delivery.Photo Overview
The photograph depicts a soldier in uniform standing next to a gravesite with a tombstone in an outdoor military setting. The stone is inscribed with the names Res. Joh. Kreutz and Res. Karl Ballreich, who are identified as fallen soldiers, along with the dates of their deaths in 1914. The setting appears to be in a European location, given the German inscriptions and uniforms, suggesting it is from World War I.
World War I was a significant global conflict that lasted from 1914 to 1918. It involved many of the world's great powers, which were divided into two opposing alliances: the Allies and the Central Powers. The war led to significant political changes, including revolutions in many of the nations involved. The soldiers mentioned, Kreutz and Ballreich, may have been part of the German Empire forces, as indicated by their Germanic names and military designations.
Condition: Good to fair vintage condition. This antique photo is on extremely old, somewhat fragile paper, and likely has age spots, tears, surface flaking, or other age related blemishes. Please see photos for detailed scans of both sides.
