Vintage 1938 MERCEDES Selekta Glossy Black Deco Typewriter w/ CaseMade by Mercedes Büromaschinen-Werke inGermanyBeautiful and collectible vintage 1930's Mercedes "Selekta" art-deco style typewriter insuper cleancondition with an example of how the type works shownin thevideo.Theonly functional issue noted is that the ribbon is not "jumping" into place to catchthe type on the paper as can be seen in the video, so as is the typewriter is not perfectlyfunctioning. This may or may not be an easy fix but so I am selling mostly for collectibleordecorative purposes.And of course, the ink ribbon may need replacing as it is a bitold and may be dried out.Thisis a steel/metal typewriter, withblackkeys of whichnoneare missingor cracked, some are a bit worn as might be expected.Serialnumberis145646/2 whichaccordingtothe "typewriter database"websiteindicates it was madein 1938.Cosmetically it is in excellent & clean vintage/pre-ownedcondition showing onlylight,typical signs of use and wear as it was stored in it's case for it's entire life. Thecase itself however does show significant wear and age including chips, tears andis overall rough shape. It is a bit crumbly and chips quite a bit when handled butwill be carefully shipped with the typewriter inside for extra protection.It doeshave a locking mechanism but there is no key included, justtypewriter and case as shown.Free Domestic Shipping!
