Vintage Wool and Leather Banner from the Calliopean Society ("CS") at Yale University - measures 17 x 34. CS was originally founded in 1819 as a literary society but disbanded in 1853. It was reinstalled in 1950 as a conservative leaning debate society and grew to join other Senior Honorary Societies.This is the only one I have ever seen!
Most likely from the 1950s - the original owners name is on the back and can be part of your tracking should you win.
Very Good Condition. Wool Letters are stitched in place with no loss of thread. Leather Seal is complete with wear only to the top layer of leather circles. Stitching is very tight and almost all intact - incredible for an item of this age.
