Vintage RPPC Woman Sitting on Crescent Moon Stars Novelty Photo Postcard EKC:
$19.99
Charming and unusual vintage real photo postcard (RPPC) featuring a young woman posed on a large crescent moon surrounded by painted clouds and stars. The oversized moon includes a human profile, giving the photograph a wonderfully whimsical, theatrical quality. This type of novelty photo was often produced at amusement parks, fairs, carnivals, resorts, photo studios, and other tourist attractions, where visitors could pose in elaborate painted sets. The crescent-moon motif was especially popular in early-to-mid-20th-century novelty photography. The reverse is unused and features a divided postcard back with “POST CARD,” “CORRESPONDENCE,” and “ADDRESS” markings. The stamp box appears to bear an EKC marking, associated with Eastman Kodak photographic postcard stock and consistent with a mid-20th-century date.Condition: Vintage condition with age-related wear. Old tape/tape remnants are present at all four corners, apparently from the postcard having once been mounted or displayed. There is additional corner and edge wear, light surface wear/soiling, and age toning. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the condition description.A terrific piece for collectors of RPPCs, novelty photography, amusement park and carnival memorabilia, crescent moon imagery, vernacular photography, or unusual vintage postcards.Approximate era: 1930s–1950sFormat: Real Photo Postcard / RPPC
