This keychain has never been put into regular use and has been preserved as part of a collection of vintage Nikon promotional merchandise.
Because of its age, the accuracy of the thermometer has not been calibrated or guaranteed. It is being offered primarily as a vintage Nikon collectible rather than as a precision temperature-measuring instrument.
Minor evidence of age, manufacturing, or long-term storage may be present. Please examine the photographs carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.
Before the weather was on your phoneA photographer heading into the field once had to carry considerably more information with them.
No weather app. No phone telling you what the temperature “feels like.” If you wanted to know the effect of wind on a cold day, a little reference chart like the one on the back of this keychain could actually be useful.
That makes this Nikon promotional piece particularly charming.
It isn’t simply a logo attached to a key ring. It’s a tiny analog tool from an era when photographers carried light meters, exposure tables, film data sheets—and apparently wind chill charts.
Most promotional keychains were put onto a set of keys, scratched, worn, lost, or eventually discarded.
This one somehow avoided all of that.
An unusual addition to a Nikon collection, vintage camera display, photography studio, dealer memorabilia collection, or assortment of analog photographic curiosities.
No batteries. No app. Just Nikon and the weather.
Please note: This is an original vintage Nikon promotional collectible and not a modern reproduction. Due to its age, thermometer accuracy and functionality are not guaranteed. The exact keychain pictured in the listing is the item being offered.
