Vintage Japanese Shichifukujin Seven Lucky Gods Quilted Textile Wall Hanging
Beautiful and unusual Japanese-style textile wall hanging featuring the Shichifukujin, or Seven Lucky Gods of Japan, along with a three-dimensional Daruma good-luck doll and traditional Japanese floral motifs.
The piece is constructed with quilted and appliqué fabric with padded/raised figures, embroidered and stitched detailing, floral fabrics and metallic gold accents. Two fabric loops at the top allow it to be hung for display.
Approximate size: 19–20 inches wide × 19–20 inches tall, not including hanging loops.
The reverse is quilted in a light-colored fabric.
Condition: Pre-owned vintage condition with normal age/use wear. There are wrinkles/creasing and some age-related discoloration visible in the lighter fabric areas. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the condition description.
No maker’s label or signature has been located.
A distinctive piece of Japanese textile art featuring traditional symbols of luck, prosperity and good fortune. Excellent for Japanese décor, textile/fabric-art collectors, Shichifukujin collectors or an Asian-inspired wall display.
Origin is believed to be Japan, but because no maker’s label is present, country of manufacture cannot be independently confirmed.
