VERY RARE MID 20th CENTURY PREMIUM HANDCRAFTED AND HAND ENGRAVED STERLING SILVER AND 12 KARAT GOLD FILLED COW AND HORSE TROPHY STYLE BELT BUCKLE & TIP MADE BY SCHAEZLEIN COMPANY FOR SHOUP, SONORA, CALFORNIA, USA—- A special thanks to a knowledgeable friend who identified the maker of this very rare design belt buckle as the highly respected SCHAEZLEIN Company in California. It was not uncommon for premium makers from this era to manufacture large orders for jewelers and retailers without placing the actual makers names on the belt buckles. This is one of those products. The condition is excellent…..the hand engraving and sparkle remain very impressive. The set is attached to a hand tooled leather belt that was embossed “VEE”, as our photos show. It was stamped with a SHOUP hallmark, as are the belt buckles. The belt has snap buckle closures and measures 1 3/8” wide. It is a total of 37” long from tip to tip including the buckle pieces. The main trophy buckle measures 3 1/2” x 2 1/2” and has an opening to fit belts up to 1 1/2” wide. The tip has a 1 3/8” opening. The main buckle is stamped as “STERLING” and “1/10 12K G.F.”.
