VTG MCM Brass Globe Sphere Ashtray Hinged Lid Cigarette Rest Round Ball Smoker:
$124.95
Vintage brass spherical ashtray with a hinged lid that opens to a small cigarette rest, in the style of a "silent butler" globe ashtray. The sphere is about 2.75 inches across and sits upright on a flat base. With the lid open the piece measures about 5.5 inches long.Condition: used and well worn. The brass is dull and tarnished with scratches, small dings and dark spots. There is green verdigris near the hinge and rim. The inside of the globe and the underside of the lid are dark and crusty from use and have not been cleaned. The hinge and lid work. I found no maker's mark, so the maker and age are unknown; it has a mid-century look, but that is not verified. The photos show the actual item. Not tested for solid brass vs plated.Sold as is, not cleaned or polished, so you can leave the patina or clean it yourself. Ships in a 6 x 6 x 6 in box, buyer pays calculated shipping.
