Vintage Rex "GEM" Lift-Arm Pocket Petrol Lighter – Pat. Pend. Art Deco Ribbed DesignBeautiful piece of early American tobacciana history: a vintage Rex GEM lift-arm petrol pocket lighter. Patented in the late 1920s by Charles Patten and produced by the Rex Manufacturing Company in Providence, Rhode Island, this classic "wafer-thin" model, compact form.
The lighter features a stunning Art Deco engine-turned vertical ribbed pattern on both sides, complete with an unengraved oval cartouche panel on the front ready for a custom monogram. The base is clearly stamped with the elegant script model name "Gem" on one side and "PAT. PEND." on the other near the flint screw mechanism.
A fantastic, historically rich addition to any vintage lighter or premium everyday carry collection!
