Unusual Antique 1880's-1900's Aqua Glass Ink Well with Flat Back
A pretty aqua blue glass conical shaped inkwell with an unusual flat back. It glows slightly yellow under a black light and there are bright blue specks throughout. 19th century writing desks had a raised rear ledge and inkwells with a flat back were designed to sit flat against the back.
It is approximately 2 7/8 inches tall and 2 inches and 2 1/4 inches across the back. There are no chips or cracks but there are many bubbles and imperfections in the glass which add to the interest. A couple of places that I thought might be chips are imperfections in the making. (Please see all photos.)
A nice unusual glass inkwell for the inkwell collector.
