This listing is for a Genuine USGI (United States Government Issue) Modular Sleep System (MSS) in the classic Woodland Camo pattern. This is the legendary, all-weather sleep system designed to keep soldiers comfortable in environments ranging from mild temperate zones to extreme sub-zero conditions. The system is comprised of four distinct components that can be used independently or layered together to create a customized thermal barrier based on the specific climate.

  • Woodland Camo Bivy Cover: A waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® (or equivalent) outer shell. It protects the insulation layers from wind, rain, and snow while allowing moisture vapor to escape.
  • Large Compression Stuff Sack (Black): A heavy-duty nylon sack with multiple tensioning straps designed to compress the entire system into a manageable size for rucksack transport.

  • Modular Layering: The bags snap together via heavy-duty perimeter snaps. By nesting the Intermediate bag inside the Patrol bag and wrapping both in the Bivy, you create a high-loft thermal system for extreme cold.
  • Vapor Permeable Bivy: The GORE-TEX® bivy cover allows you to sleep in the open without a tent, providing a waterproof barrier that prevents condensation buildup inside the bags.
  • Non-Locking Zippers: Specifically designed so the occupant can "burst" out of the bag in an emergency without fumbling for zipper pulls.
  • Anatomical Hood: Each bag features a drawcord-adjustable hood to trap heat around the head and neck, which is essential for preventing heat loss in sub-zero temperatures.
  • Reinforced Footbox: Designed with extra room at the bottom to allow for sleeping with boots on or storing water/electronics to keep them from freezing.
