This knife is a Spyderco Factory Second because some aspect of the knife did not meet Spyderco's stringent quality-control standards.While these imperfections may affect the product’s appearance, most are imperceptible and do not compromise its proper mechanical operation. Regardless of the specific reason a knife is declared a second, it remains safe for normal use. To clearly differentiate Factory Seconds from Firsts, these knives are all marked with a small nick on the spine of the blade near the handle on the right side (See Photos) and are not provided with a Spyderco box.
