Saint Catherine Labouré, Relic from France. Beautiful Reliquary / Theca She was born Zoé Labouré in Burgundy, entered the Daughters of Charity in 1830. Responsible for bringing the BVM’s Miraculous Medal to fruition.

During her novitiate, she reported several apparitions of the Virgin Mary (July–December 1830), including the famous vision of 27 November, where Mary asked that a medal be struck promising special graces.

Catherine lived a life of humility and service, spending 46 years caring for the elderly and the poor at the Hospice d’Enghien in Paris. She kept complete silence about her visions; only her confessor knew she was the visionary.

She died on 31 December 1876, and her body was found incorrupt
