Beautiful coordinated pair of vintage Chinese ceremonial / caparisoned elephant sculptures featuring ornate carved bone-clad panel construction, elaborate saddle and harness decoration, painted accents, brass-tone embellishments and projecting tusks. These are substantial statement pieces with impressive detail and strong decorative presence. One elephant measures approximately 14” from trunk to tail and 13” high to the top of the raised trunk; the companion is similar in scale. One retains a “Made in China” label on the underside. Both elephants are in vintage condition with expected age-related wear, visible panel seams, surface variation and some separation consistent with their construction.
