Here is a book [softcover] originally printed in 1905 [this is a 2015 reprint] called "The Deluge and its Cause" by Issac Newton Vail. This book had been quoted by C.T. Russell and early Watchtower and Bible Student sources regarding the Biblical understanding of a water canopy surrounding the earth before the flood of Noah's day then how it collapsed precipitating one of the reasons for the global deluge. It also discusses Flood legends around the world and how planets such as Jupiter also have canopies around them. [Actually most planets have canopies surrounding them as noted by scientist today].-Personal thought-
{Actually the idea of a canopy protecting a large planet is also found many places in creation such as the fact of a "membrane" that surrounds a cell. It allows beneficial things in and prevents harmful things while allowing a breathing process [sluices / pidgeon holes in Hebrew Genesis] that debunks the idea that the canopy or membrane would have caused unbearable atmospheric pressures on earth.}[Also the idea of a water canopy does not preclude the idea of the deluge coming from two sources from above and below which merged to cause the flood - which some flood legends do mention].
For more info on myths and legends about the fact of a Global Flood see the book: "The PROGENITOR Evidence of a Global Flood" Which we sell also and written by one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
