Near 10” long yellow birch, original wedge and blade, far rarer and more significant than a Stanley No. 1. Circa 1750s-1760s. There’s a lot to like about this one -- almost looks like a mother plane, great patina, strong mark, chatter marks still visible on the left side. Some wear to the rear sole and an expertly done Dutchman repair where there was some blowout from heel strikes. Overall very good. A museum worthy piece of history!Authenticity and satisfaction guaranteed.
