Vintage MONT BLANC 342 fountain pen with a gold plated steel #2 F- Fine nib. The nib is flexy and has a good variation of line width.

This is the earliest and first version of the 342. It was fully made out of celluloid and had a cork gasket. Also, it is probably the rarest of them, as the resin pens were much more common. On the later 342/ 3-42, montblanc first introduced a resin barrel and a celluloid cap, then made them fully out of resin.

Also, after the celluloid 342, they became the 3-42 after which the later models reverted to the original 342 designation.

The pen is in excellent condition, as you can see on the pictures. It is a piston filler pen.

The pen itself has been fully serviced, which included thorough cleaning and all moving parts lubrication, thus the pistons operates smoothly. A new cork will be made and installed into this pen.
