Up for sale is a stunning and rare mid-century sacred art sculpture depicting the "Virgen de los Treinta y Tres" (Patroness of Uruguay). This exquisite piece was crafted and signed by the prestigious and listed Uruguayan academic sculptor Benjamín Deminco (1914–1995).

"Nuestra Señora de los Treinta y Tres" translates to Our Lady of the Thirty-Three.Also Known As: She is frequently referred to as the Liberator of Uruguay.Origin: The title refers to a small wooden statue of the Virgin Mary, carved in cedar by Guarani indigenous people which was entrusted with the protection of the nation by the Treinta y Tres Orientales (Thirty-Three Orientals) during their fight for Uruguay's independence in 1825.Location: The original statue is venerated at the Cathedral Basilica of Florida (located in the city of Florida, Uruguay).Feast Day: Her feast day is celebrated every November 8th.
