This unique piece is a Victorian double snail inkwell on an ornate cast iron base with pen rests on top. They are quite practical as they easily revolve to an open or closed position. It will be a lovely addition to an academia themed desk. and it would make the perfect gift for a Victorian enthusiast.
It dates back to the late 19th centurv. The stand has a bit of rust, but overall it's in good vintage condition, free of cracks and chips, and they revolve smoothly. Many of these were made single, not double.
