Heavy, thick brass plating is utilized strictly around the top horizontal spirit glass housings and the side plumb-sight viewing windows. The top brass plate is crisply stamped with the iconic Stratton Brothers eagle emblem and two historic production patent dates: "JULY 16, 1872" and "MAY 22, 1888."
