Fine antique English porcelain set consisting of two matching cups and two saucers attributed to Chamberlain Worcester, dating to the early Regency period, circa 1800–1810.The pieces are richly decorated in the fashionable early 19th-century “Japan” or Imari style, with deep cobalt-blue panels contrasting against white porcelain reserves painted with iron-red stylized flowers and cobalt foliage. Fine hand-applied gilt decoration accents the floral work, panel dividers, borders, rims and distinctive angular handles.The saucers feature a particularly attractive segmented design with alternating cobalt-blue and floral panels surrounded by an elaborate iron-red and gilt scrolling border. The cups repeat the same decoration and have unusual geometric gilt handles characteristic of high-quality English porcelain of the period.Chamberlain’s Worcester was one of England’s leading porcelain manufacturers during the Georgian and Regency periods and became particularly celebrated for richly decorated Japan-style and highly gilded porcelain.An attractive matched group of approximately 200-year-old English porcelain and an excellent addition to a collection of Chamberlain Worcester, Regency ceramics, Georgian porcelain or early English Imari ware.CONDITIONGood antique condition for pieces dating from the early 19th century.There is expected age-related wear, including rubbing and loss to the gilding, particularly around rims and handles, along with scattered surface wear and scratches to the painted and cobalt areas.
