Original antique tintype photograph dating to approximately the 1870s-1880s.Interesting Victorian-era studio portrait of a young gentleman wearing a light-colored cap. He is seated in a fringed chair and dressed in a suit with vest, high collar and visible watch chain.The unusual cap and detailed studio backdrop give this tintype lots of character.Condition is well worn. The tintype has numerous bends and waves throughout the metal plate along with surface scratches, scuffs, marks, edge wear and areas of finish loss. The reverse shows oxidation, discoloration and additional age-related wear.Despite the condition issues, the portrait remains clear with nice facial detail.Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
