These officially released photographs capture the triumphant first touchdown of NASA's fourth operational space shuttle at Edwards Air Force Base.
► HISTORICAL CONTEXT: THE STS-51J MISSIONLaunched on October 3, 1985, STS-51J marked the maiden flight of Space Shuttle Atlantis (OV-104). This was a highly classified Department of Defense mission. After completing 64 orbits and a flight duration of just over four days, Atlantis executed a flawless landing on Runway 23, a dry lakebed at Edwards Air Force Base in California, on October 7, 1985.

Back & Margins: Any minimal handling wear is strictly confined to the back purple mimeograph side or the white outer margins. There is zero heavy creasing. Features the official NASA Houston stamp alongside the classic purple mimeographed press release text detailing the crew (Bobko, Grabe, Hilmers, Stewart, Pailes).
Overall: Excellent vintage condition, securely stored to preserve their historical integrity.
