1948 British Army 1940 Pattern Dismounted Wool Greatcoat Size 8 Military:
$65.00

Original British Army 1940 Pattern Dismounted Greatcoat, dated 1948, Size 8.

Genuine heavy olive/khaki wool British military greatcoat with double-breasted front, shoulder epaulets, long dismounted cut and military buttons.

The original interior issue label remains present and identifies the coat as a dismounted greatcoat, Size 8, with what appears to be a 1948 manufacture date. This is the British Army 1940 Pattern style used during WWII and continuing into the immediate postwar period. This particular coat is postwar dated and is not being represented as a WWII-manufactured example.

CONDITION — PLEASE READ: This coat is in heavily worn/distressed condition and is being sold as-is. There are numerous moth holes and areas of fabric loss throughout, including several larger holes, along with staining/discoloration, loose or missing stitching, fraying, damaged seams, significant cuff wear and other age/storage wear. There are also remnants of old painted/stenciled markings.

Please examine all photographs carefully for condition. The photos are considered part of the description.

Despite the condition, the coat retains its original military character, buttons, interior lining and importantly its original identification/size label. It would be best suited to a militaria collection, restoration project, display, film/theater wardrobe, study/reference piece, or someone specifically looking for an authentically distressed British military greatcoat.
